Between Person and Painting – What is the Right Art for My Space
Abstract Painter Wassily Kandinsky once said, “There is no must in art because art is free.”
While we want to choose the right kind of art for our homes or more specifically the right paintings for our homes, we need to keep in mind that these likes, dislikes, tastes and preferences are very personal, subjective and sometimes even situational or simply, as choices, functional. For example the factors that could very well influence what we buy could be the nature of the room, proportions of the space, vibe we want in the space, interior palettes, materials used around the space, tones of the space, furniture, wallpaper, lighting, and so much more. The right painting for your home can be an experience that becomes very special as it isn’t something in occasional contact but in a space where we are going to see and experience it every day, every single day and even multiple times the same day.
That is where personalising the space and then enriching the feeling and energy with an abstract painting adds so much value as at the time of installing upon purchase itself, it has taken a special place in the persons’ hearts to be such a close part of their space and the inherent vibe of the space being built with it. This resonance and depth in connection or love for the abstract painting is what we are speaking about. When a creator creates the painting, the painting’s goal is ultimately to deliver what it does in a space that it was meant for! Keeping this in mind, a sacred intimate relationship begins to build between person and painting even before the work is installed as it is put up in the space itself with that kind of care and love.
The feeling and genuinity that comes with a work of art becoming part of the space is what ultimately does or does not make it the right piece for your space. Of course the superficial aesthetic aspects and of course, the intangible aspects of energy in the space but, essentially how do we feel about, for or with that abstract painting in the space, spatially, situationally, visually and in a very visceral sense is what becomes only more and more special both short and long term. Therefore if the feeling is right for you, it is indeed right for a space that is you, For a space that is yours. The essence between person and painting.
