WHY IS ARTISTIC SENSIBILITY IMPORTANT IN ABSTRACT PAINTING? – PART II

When the artistic sensibility we stated in Part 1 is paid heed to diligently, it comes into harmony with one’s space and the ultimate magic is in form, comes into function. The concept, idea, visual translation, form, colour, palette and mind space, all matches and seamlessly or feature-wise blends in to suit the space, place and people, the creation starts to matter. The placement and vibe that a painting brings in to energise the space can be comprehended in various ways. The evolving meanings with respect to how the peoples’ connections with the paintings in their space grow, establishes the resonance and love growing too. We must remember that the same work of art may mean not only different things to different people but could mean different things to the same person at different points in time situationally, circumstantially or otherwise based on moods, tendencies and head space, then.

The intangible realms are what matter long term though the physical form of the visual presence is available to us on a tangible basis. There can be no doubt about being genuinely invested in a creation in one’s own space, but having said that is one genuinely invested in the idea of what that work does for the space in a consistent way? Well, maybe not all the time or constantly. The paintings of taken away from the spaces they were installed though, would give out very evidently the sense or feeling of vacuum, a certain emptiness or low on energy feeling in the space. The fact that something then feels missing is the intrinsic power of a painting to shine its energies through he space. Almost like a vibration that is created, reflected, grown and nurtured in the space.

Therefore, paintings matter not only for their energy alone, but also for how the space feels to the people who inhabit it, with paintings and without or with different ones. Its all about the sensitivities, involvement and a beautiful, evolved, refined, deep connection that makes the space, that makes the pace and takes the people in it, into the world, of and for the painting.
