What we deem as inspiration or art is often found through variant lenses. How one finds it depends on what one looks for and consequentially what one sees. Drawing inspiration is a sandwiched journey in terms of influence. What we look for, influences what we see and what we see and think, influence what we make. Therefore, inspiration is actually gradually separated multiple times in the ‘making thread’ by influence. Whether it be influence of watching, reading, life experiences or even feelings in a current headspace, influence and inspiration are prevalent at intermingling and varying intervals.
Let’s ask ourselves what influences what we look for, thus, influencing eventually what we make from that inspiration. It is what we want to make as artists, that influences what we look for, if we’ve decided or are premeditated about it, or else it’s how we’re feeling, where we are, and where we come from, that mostly makes us see what we see, as a spontaneous process. Influencing inspiration and inspiration influencing us / our work, is thus the cycle that is an organic or natural phenomenon for us, as Creators. A certain curiosity, fascination, need to explore and determination could drive it all, with pace and motivation.
