The legendary artist Pablo Picasso once said, “I don’t say everything, but I paint everything.” What we see, what we don’t. What we say and what we don’t. What we paint and what we don’t, and, what our works say and what they don’t!
Well, it’s all in what we choose to create, and we choose to say. But do we wonder what gets told and what remains untold? About the said and the unsaid?
What we leave unsaid and, what the work leaves unsaid could be very different things. (As the audience construe what they see and want, and we create what we see and want). What we do not perhaps put into words, we could create as art! For art conveys even the unconveyable. Even the unsaid can be said through art and so, the unsaid lives. This game of the said and unsaid can be as tricky as it is interesting to maneuver. Sometimes, expression becomes so profound through art that the feeling doesn’t require any words to articulate itself. The feeling or resonance is moving enough to impact us in the most memorable ways.
Though we don’t say everything, we could find our ways to express and channelize what we want to say beyond the said. A way to express everything, like how Picasso says he paints everything. Conveying the unsaid or simply drowning in the profound nature and impact of it, is perhaps what the said is all about.
