“A great artist is a simplifier.” – Vincent Van Gogh |
Simplification is the game of the brave and the symbol of greatness. Relevance and relativity always has greater range in terms of reach and undertsanding when there is simplicity in the presentation and reception of a work. When Van Gigh talks of simplicity, he is talking of the beauty in simplicity and the power of simplicity which leads to greatness. There are multiple aspects of simplicity but when iy somes to the process of simplifying, that is for sure a skill. When an artist is a simplifier, there is great potential to acheive greatness, as complexity is being depicted and presented in a simple way for the world to enjoy and perceive. There are layers to simplifying when we see Van Gogh’s works itself for example. How the flowers and grass and fields sprawling on land tell tales of the mind and the heart.
There can be no looking back as we see his works and understand the beauty in how he has conveyed complex human layers of perceoption in simple, nuanced ways for the people to relate to, immerse themeselves and introspect in order to have that impact and consequence in memory and of times gone for times to come. Simplifying can therefore do many things for the world to undertsatnd and unbox complexities in depth, presepctive and much more.
