The direct sense of engagement that a painting offers is unmatched to a painter. Capturing a moment whether it be in reality, from the painter’s imagination or partly both, the mediums and tools transport us as painters into an immersive world of their own or rather our own to drown ourselves in. The beauty of the power to create lies in the fact that we can choreograph the world we are creating in any way we want to manifest it as a reality to us.
Making the experience of both the painting process as well as the viewing process profound, lies in our ability to believe in that world – whether the painter can convincingly and authentically capture that moment to make the viewer believe in it enough. That is where the aspect of liveliness or life comes into a painting – seeing the painting itself as a being.
The translation of energies along with the levels of observation, the idea, vivid imagination and the skills of the painter are some of the factors that could enhance creations to become extraordinary. What we perceive as ‘capturing a moment through a painting’ depends on how we assess these contexts to determine how much we believe in that world.
Therefore, what determines whether that moment is successfully captured in the painting is based purely on the trust and deliverance that the painter has in it which then transfers its importance and flows through the creation to convince the audience to place that much of the same in the creation to make their experiences memorable and profound.
It is about capturing moments to treasure and continuing to express and treasure them through art.
